The two-fold mission of the Turbo Power Machinery Research Center is to carry out cutting edge research, and train experts in, energy systems, with a special focus on turbo and power machinery. The Center also promotes technical collaboratin between Korean researchers and their overseas counterparts, and serves as a forum for Korean researchers to discuss and develop national policy related to energy systems. The three groups comprising the Center—turbomachinery, energy systems performance analysis, and heat transfer—conduct research in turbomachinery, power systems, propulsion systems, plant systems, and renewable energy. The Center’s facilities include a low speed axial compressor, an axial turbine, a centrifugal compressor, a cascade and various heat transfer facilities.
